About Us

Ownership

The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation (County Mutual) was organized in 1988 by county officials to provide insurance protection for Wisconsin’s counties and today insures close to 75 percent of counties in the state. Community Insurance Corporation was created in 2001 to give cities, towns, villages and school districts access to the highly successful County Mutual program.

Today, the Community Insurance Corporation is guided by the same founding principles of the County Mutual and the close working relationship we have with local officials and our members is critical to our long-term success.

We continue to adhere to our mission of:

  • Providing long-term stability in coverages;
  • Stabilizing and controlling insurance costs;
  • Aggressively defending claims against members; and
  • Controlling claims cost by promoting quality risk management through training and other resources.
